「やりたいこと」の選択の自由を広げるには、お金が必要。言い換えると、お金がないことは自由がないことと同義。「やりたいことが見つからない／決まらない」あいだは、お金を貯めることに徹せよ、やりたいことを見つけたときに、すぐ取りかかれるように―――と伝えるつもり。

　アルバイトは重要だけど、「バイトに明け暮れる」はダメ。ポイントは「カネ」そのものではない。知らない年上に揉まれること、知らない年下を扱うことに慣れるのが、バイト。バイトで失う最も痛いものは、時間だ。小遣いに毛が生えた程度のカネを手にするために、若い貴重な時間を使い果たすのは愚かだ（ソース俺）―――と伝えるつもり。
